During the 2024 school year, I served as the design lead for Bruin Sports Analytics' Tennis Consulting team, working directly with UCLA Athletics to create a website for UCLA tennis players. The platform provides access to team stats, individual stats, in-game stats, and team schedules, enabling players to analyze their performance, recognize strengths, and identify areas for improvement. This website will allow players to easily track their individual and team progress, analyze in-game statistics, and make data-driven decisions to enhance their performance, whether they're in their dorm or on their way to their next match!

To achieve this, we crafted a system that clearly defined the use of colors, typography, and layout to create a user-friendly interface that is both modern and aligned with UCLA’s visual identity. This approach ensures the app remains consistent, functional, and easy to expand upon in the future.

Reflecting on this experience, I’m incredibly grateful that my first opportunity as a design lead was with UCLA! Leading this project was both exciting and challenging, especially since my team consisted of just myself and one other designer. While having a small team eased some of the pressure, I still took the role very seriously and put my all into creating a positive and productive design environment for both of us. This journey has taught me invaluable lessons about collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving—insights that will continue to shape my growth as a designer.

This team truly surprised me with how hands-on and collaborative everyone was—from developers contributing to the design process to me unexpectedly learning how to play tennis! It was a rewarding experience that pushed me to grow and embrace new challenges as both a designer and a leader.

👩🏽💻 Onboarding
The user starts at the sign-up screen, entering their UCLA logon credentials. After logging in, they’re taken to the dashboard, where they can easily view and track their personalized stats.
🏆 Finding a Match
Users select the Matches tab to view a list of recent matches. When they find one they’re interested in, they tap on it to access a detailed page with all the relevant information.
🛠️ Filtering a Match
Users can filter match data by clicking the filter button and selecting from a range of options to view the specific information they’re interested in.
🔑 Key Stats and Visuals
Users can view detailed visuals of their stats by clicking the Key Stats and Visuals tab, providing an easy-to-understand breakdown of their performance.
👬 Team Statistics
Lastly, if users want to see their team's overall performance, they can go to the Team Statistics tab, where they’ll find team stats, the schedule, and upcoming games.
