Why Do I Design?
I design because I want to inspire others who look like me to step into the tech world and feel like their voices truly matter. As an African American woman in tech, I know how daunting it can be—not only to feel less than in spaces like tech, but also to look around and not see anyone who looks like you. My goal is to create designs that don’t just make a difference, but also encourage others to bring their ideas to the table and feel empowered to take up space in tech!
When I'm not designing :)
Some of my hobbies include (but definitely aren’t limited to): dancing, crocheting, learning new instruments (I’m currently working on the guitar and ukulele, but I’m hoping to tackle piano next), doing puzzles, and karaoke—though my friends would probably say it’s more me yelling along to my favorite songs! Recently, I’ve also picked up acting, and I’m so excited to be part of my school’s production of SpongeBob the Musical!
